Director of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) mission Peter Duffy said that they have discussed a huge potential that diaspora has on several occasions, especially in the field of attracting foreign investments.
“When we talk with representatives of the diaspora who already returned to BiH, their picture is quite pink and they believe that there is a lot of potentials. We talked with our partners in the past nine months in order to encourage some activities and thus attract more representatives of the diaspora to invest in BiH,” stated Duffy.
According to him, the program of credit guarantees and grant programs have already started, and they started this platform as well in order to ensure better connections. He also noted that presented platform contains tools that will enable diaspora around the world to come and research market possibilities, make some connections and consider starting of investments in BiH in that way as well.
He added that this platform, like any other internet platform, is as good as it is used by people. He said that most people who left BiH and went abroad want to invest in our country but do not want to return and live here.
