PM Novalic: We are procuring 1.5 million Vaccines through three Channels

The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), Fadil Novalic, said at yesterday’s session of the House of Peoples of FBiH that FBiH is negotiating through three channels on the procurement of vaccines and that these procurements are certain.

As Novalic said, the first channel, which is not an option, for now, was the purchase of American vaccines – Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson. Novalic said that there was an answer saying that for now it will not be possible and that it is a job that will work exclusively with the state.

“So, we crossed out the American channel,” told Novalic.

The second channel refers to the Russian Sputnik, where the procurement will be made together with the Canton Sarajevo (CS). There will be 500.000 vaccines and that is a probable source, these are pre-contractual actions.

“CS is working on activities, and we will do the majority of the financial construction,” the Prime Minister stated.

Channel number three is AstraZeneca, which is produced in 42 locations all around the world, but is always owned by England, he added.

“You have to get permission from the British government there, which we went through direct communication. You also have to get permission from the Prime Minister of India for the contract, since vaccines are produced there. The next step is to choose a wholesaler,” he noted.

That invitation for the wholesaler was opened last Thursday, and it will close today, so that issue can be certain as early as Monday. This procurement of vaccines from India is the fastest way.

“The fourth channel is towards the Chinese Sinopharm. Out of six steps, we are on the fifth. We have already chosen a wholesaler and that is Hercegovinalijek. So that is 500.000,” said Prime Minister Novalic.

The next step is to sign contracts that will state the price and exact time of the arrival of the vaccines. These three channels are quite certain, he pointed out, Klix.ba writes.
