Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton Irfan Halilagić met today in Tuzla with the ambassadors of Slovakia, Belgium and the Netherlands in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In a conversation with Ambassadors Roman Hloben (Slovakia), Benjamin Sturtwagen (Chief of Diplomatic Office of Belgium) and Jan Waltmans (Netherlands), Prime Minister Halilagić presented the results of the first 100 days of work of the executive power in Tuzla Canton, but also presented the measures and activities on which the Government will TC to work until the end of the calendar year.

“We talked about current events in the Tuzla Canton. I expressed the readiness, that is, the readiness of the TC institutions when it comes to European integration and our role in the whole process. We also touched on other topics, as well as problems that were in the focus of the public, such as floods, school shootings, etc. I believe that this is an extended hand of friendship and cooperation that we will readily use in the coming period. We want to be a generator of concrete changes for the benefit of the citizens of TC,” said Prime Minister Halilagić.

The ambassadors pointed out that today’s visit is a continuous activity in which they visit the entire area of Bosnia and Herzegovina and want to see how citizens live in all cantons and areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, during the meeting, they invited the Government of Tuzla Canton to follow the experiences that Slovakia had in its transition process, but also to use the support of the founding countries of the European Union, such as Belgium and the Netherlands.

“We are glad that we came on the eve of the celebration of 100 days since the establishment of the Government of Tuzla Canton. We heard from the prime minister the priorities that the canton has until the end of this year. We are also glad to have heard information about the establishment of the Office for the Fight against Corruption and that this project, along with the establishment of the property register of elected officials, has the support of the Government of Tuzla Canton. We are here today to support the work of the Government of TC and we will certainly return again,” said the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to BiH Roman Hloben.

After talking with Prime Minister Halilagić, the ambassadors are going to visit the Club “Zmajevo srce”, i.e. the facility where people with Down syndrome work in Tuzla.
