After the end of the Pride Parade, the Ministry of the Internal Affairs (MIA) of Canton Sarajevo (CS) yesterday announced that this event was successfully realized from the security aspect and that the police officers were up to the task.

The Police Directorate of the MIA of CS, in cooperation and with the help of colleagues from the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Intelligence and Security Agency of BiH, then the Federal Police Administration, the Police Directorate of MIA ofZenica-Doboj, Herzegovina-Neretva, Central Bosnia, Tuzla, and Bosnian-Podrinje Canton, took measures and actions within its competence to secure yesterday’s public rallies: “Pride March” and “Anti-LGBT Protest”, which were held in the BiH capital.

“On that occasion, a sufficient number of police officers, both uniformed and criminal police, were engaged in the physical, operational, KDZ, and traffic security of these events,” it was announced.

The police thank all the citizens and visitors of the CS for their patience and understanding, considering that, due to the organization of these public gatherings, the traffic in the inner city area was suspended.

“We also express our gratitude and congratulations to the police officers and employees of all agencies who took part in the implementation of today’s planning activities, especially taking into account the weather conditions in which it was necessary to perform today’s tasks,” it was concluded yesterday.

According to initial police estimates, close to a thousand peopleparticipated in the parade, Klix.ba writes.
