During the night, police officers of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton searched the Temporary Reception Center “Blažuj” in the municipality of Ilidža and arrested one person.

The searches were carried out as part of the operational action “Blažuj III”, under the supervision of the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Sarajevo Canton and with the order of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo.

The action was carried out with the aim of finding illegal weapons, narcotics and other items that can be used to threaten the safety of users and employees of the Center or originate from the commission of a criminal act. A total of 496 persons were included in the search.

The man, A.J. born in 1998 in Algeria, was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of possession and facilitating the consumption of narcotic drugs, in which a PVC bag was found containing a substance that in its appearance is associated with the narcotic drug marijuana. The suspect was handed over to the Premises for Detention of Persons Deprived of Liberty of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton.

During the search of the facility, a purse was found containing 38 packets containing a substance that looks like marijuana. Also, confiscated objects (wooden sticks, etc.) were found and could threaten the safety of users and employees of the Center, and could be used to cause physical injuries.
