The Italian Embassy in Sarajevo informs that on Tuesday, January 28th, at 10:30 o’clock in Mostar, an annual commemoration will be held for three Italian journalists from RAI Trieste, Dario D’Angelo, Marco Luchett and Alessandro Otto, who left Italy to record on children victims of war, were killed by grenade on January 28th1994.

In order to remember the sacrifice of three reporters who, by forming their own bodies a shield from a grenade shell, saved the interviewed boy by miracle, Ambassador Nicola Minasi, together with representatives of the Mostar city authorities, will lay a wreath at the memorial plaque erected at the site of their casualty at Brace Fejica Street number 82.

In the wake of these tragic events, the Luchetta Ota D’Angelo Hrovatin Foundation was set up in Trieste to provide the necessary treatment to children injured in war or suffering from diseases that cannot be treated in their country.

The media and the general public are invited to join in this meditative gathering, which will also be an opportunity to reflect on the importance of freedom of information and the dangers that journalists must face in carrying out their tasks and in times of peace.
