Members of the BiH Border Police, on August 16, 2023, deprived the citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, A.Š. (1980), after six persons of Afro-Asian origin who illegally entered the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the direction of Montenegro were discovered to be smuggling.

Smuggling was prevented in the area of Čajniče after a police pursuit of a passenger motor vehicle Toyota, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s national plates, since the driver previously disobeyed the orders of the police officers to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle was caught and six foreign nationals who did not have identification documents were found in it, and in the Questionnaires for Migrants they stated that they came from Pakistan.

The prosecutor on duty of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the judge for preliminary proceedings of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina were informed about the incident, according to whose orders the driver A.Š. deprived of liberty and questioned as a suspect, while the vehicle and other evidence were temporarily confiscated.

The foreign nationals were handed over to members of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners of BiH for further processing. The report on the committed criminal offense of human smuggling will be submitted to the BiH Prosecutor’s Office in the regular procedure.
