Police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton will receive new classic uniforms, shoes and boots no later than four months (120 days), as stipulated in the deadlines in the contracts concluded after the public procurement procedure for uniform parts for police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton.

The Ministry announced that, although there was a commitment, as well as the necessary financial resources for the procurement of uniforms since 2019, this procurement could not be carried out due to a number of aggravating circumstances, which is why police officers in the Sarajevo Canton were deprived of new uniforms.

One of the key problems that needed to be resolved was the adoption of the Regulation on a Single Police Uniform for Police Forces in the Federation of BiH. After it was adopted and published in the Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in August 2023, and entered into force on the eighth day from the date of publication, the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton was the first in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to initiate the public procurement of uniforms for police officers already in October of the same year.

According to Minister Admir Katica, the procurement of new uniforms for police officers has been at the top of the priorities of the MoI of Sarajevo Canton, as well as the Government of Sarajevo Canton, for five years.

“Since 2019, we have been allocating funds in the budget for procurement that we could not implement due to the lack of a single regulation on police uniforms in the FBiH, as well as problems in public procurement procedures. Finally, I can announce that all conditions have been met and that our police officers will have new uniforms within four months. This is another in a series of problems and shortcomings that we have successfully overcome, so I can rightly say that the police in the Sarajevo Canton are the best equipped, police officers have the best salaries and conditions, the best equipment, and we are also working intensively on the segment of human resource capacity building and hiring new police officers,” confirmed Minister Katica.

A total of 3,783,300 BAM excluding VAT has been allocated for the procurement of classic uniforms, shoes and boots for police officers of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of the Sarajevo Canton. The procurement includes men’s and women’s uniform sets with the corresponding parts of the classic police uniform: rank, insignia on the sleeves and chest, insignia on the cap and police badge; then trousers, shirts, T-shirts, waterproof jackets, reflective vests, tactical boots, tactical sneakers, mid-high boots and more.

After the public procurement procedure, a decision was made to select the most favorable bidder, by which the contract for Lot 1 – Classic uniform was awarded to the bidder KM Trade d.o.o. Visoko in the value of 3,021,100 BAM (excluding VAT), and the contract for Lot 4 in the value of 762,200 BAM (excluding VAT) to the bidder Shot d.o.o. Zenica. The public procurement procedure in the part related to the procurement of ceremonial and uniforms for work abroad (LOT 2 and LOT 3) was canceled and will be repeated.
