Canton Sarajevo MUP officials revealed the identity of the woman and child whose bodies were recovered from Miljacka last night, and announced that they were a thirty-four-year-old woman and her three-year-old child.

“It is about a woman, born in 1990 in Fojnica, living in Sarajevo, and her child, born in 2021. “Police officers are continuing to work on elucidating all the circumstances of this event, under the supervision of the KTKS prosecutor, who ordered an autopsy to be performed on the bodies of the deceased,” the police said.

Police officers of PU Stari Grad, after recognition by family members, determined the identity of the deceased persons, as announced by the KS MUP.

The KS MUP announced this morning that last night, just before midnight, the Stari Grad Police Department received a report that a body had been spotted in a riverbed in Miljacka, Bentbaša area. The patrol that went to the field confirmed the allegations from the report.

Members of the police, firefighters, ambulance and GSS were sent to the field. At 1:30 a.m., the body of a middle-aged woman was pulled out, along with the body of a child up to four years old. Doctors declared the death of both people on the spot.
