Political Events should not be an Obstacle towards the Common Goal

politiciansEven though the issue of political events in BiH is not on the official agenda of session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe, there is a great interest for the new initiative and EU approach to BiH, member of delegation of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Saša Magazinović told FENA today.

”At the many meetings I have had with colleagues from different member states of CE, there is a common message that EU gave a helping hand to BiH and a very good offer which would be political luxury not to accept,” said Magazinović.

He added that political events should not be an obstacle towards the common goal, which is accession of our state to the EU.

He stated that the integration processes should include the government and opposition and be the place of their mutual understanding and joint actions.

”It is very important for the joint statement to be agreed as soon as possible in the BiH Presidency and adopted in the Parliament, which will unblock the European path of our country. I honestly do not know what can be greater political interest at this moment,” said Magazinović.

He said that invitation of President Anne Brasseur to delegation of BiH for an official meeting during the session confirms that the new approach to BiH, that is, the German-British Initiative, is a very present topic in the Council of Europe.

Topic of the meeting will also be future presiding of BiH over the oldest European organization, the Council of Europe.
