Despite the complicated procedure of getting visas for Thailand, over 1000 tourists from BiH visited this country, said the Chief of Tourist Association of Thailand for Europe Supranee Pongpat on today’s Thai tourist presentation in Sarajevo.

Pongpat said that she will on easing the process of getting of Thai visas for BiH tourists.

‘Compared to previous year, the number of tourists from BiH in Thailand has increased. In 2013 we expect that around 22 million tourists will visit Thailand, because they want to enjoy Thai cuisine, malls, and other interesting sights of the country’ said Pongpat.

Thailand’s also developing medical tourism, because they have large number of professionals working in more than 20 high standard clinics.

Also, Thailand has a large number of wellness centres, which offer a rejuvenating experience to all visitors.

In 2015 Thailand will join the Asian community, which will also help the tourism, because the largest number of tourists comes from China.

On the other hand, total values of exported BiH goods in 2010 was 69,283 BAM, and imported 9,163,859 BAM while in 2011, BiH exported goods worth 108,097 BAM and imported 17,005,556 BAM.

BiH exported mostly weapons, kraft paper and coated paperboard and furniture and its parts, while it imported air and vacuum pumps, fish, clothes, jewellery, phones, sugar, steel, iron products and rice.

During this visit to BiH, delegation of Thailand exchanged experiences with the FBiH Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and those experiences will help both BiH and Thailand.

‘In this way we’ll make the exchange of visitors, but it’s only just begun’, said Pongpat.

BiH must exploit its winter tourist offer which is very attractive to Thais.
