papa3Pope Francis made a brief reference to a day of his visit to Sarajevo.

“I was in Sarajevo on Saturday, in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a pilgrim of peace and hope. Sarajevo is a city-symbol. For centuries, it was a place of the coexistence of people and religions, thus it is called the “Jerusalem of the West“. In the recent past, it became a symbol of war destruction. The beautiful process of reconciliation is in process currently, and before all I went there in order to support the peaceful coexistence of different people, that is difficult, but possible way! And they are doing well“, said Pope Francis.

Pope Francis thanked for the warm reception and once more sent his blessing.

I than to the Authorities and all citizens for a warm reception. I thank to the Catholic community to which I wanted to bring the love of the universal Church. Also, I would especially like to thank to all believers – orthodox. Muslims, Jews, and other religious minorities“, stated Pope.

He added that he appreciates efforts on the cooperation and solidarity among people of different religions, encouraging them to continue the work on the spiritual and moral renewal of the society.

“They are working together like real brothers, Let God bless Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina“, said Pope.
