130919_fg_popefrancisliberal-jpg-crop_-article568-largeToday, Pope Francis called on the media to report not only true, but also to write about the good news. In this world of the fake news and alternative facts, writing about the positive news is a must.

As stated, the Pope Francis appealed to the media to write positive news that have an aim to encourage hope, and not to focus only on the bad news and scandals.

Moreover, he pointed out that the previously said does not mean that journalists need to “ignore the tragedy of human suffering” or turning a blind eye to the evils. On the other side, constantly writing about the bad news leads to apathy and disillusionment.

Due to openly criticizing the media, Pope Francis previously had “strained relations” with journalists in his native Argentina.
