Pope’s Visit will be the event which will encourage Bosnia and Herzegovina to move from a standstill

popeBanja Luka Bishop, Monsignor Franjo Komarica expressed his satisfaction with the confirmation that the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, has decided to visit Sarajevo on 6 June, noting that he expects the event to encourage Bosnia and Herzegovina to move from a standstill and towards civilized European countries.

“The Pope has realized the need and necessity to come to us and “push” us and our country, which, unfortunately, has been left too long on the sidelines, and to push us socially and politically and in the common life of different peoples and religious communities and strengthen our community and help us to get where we belong, in the family of European nations and civilized countries,” said Bishop Komarica.

“If we take into consideration the role of the current pope in the world, even among politicians, there is no doubt that this visit would bring joy to every noble and benevolent human being,” said Bishop of Banja Luka in a statement to FENA.

As it was announced today to the faithful gathered at St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, by coming to BiH Pope Francis wants to strengthen efforts in improving fraternal relations in our country that was in war two decades ago.

“I ask of you to pray that my visit to these dear people comes as encouragement to the Catholic youth, brings the fruits of good and contributes to brotherhood and peace,” said Pope Francis.
