Aleksandar Popov, director of the Center for Regionalism, spoke about why the countries in the region are in a collapse as well asthe relations and dependence on the region, and also the balancing of Aleksandar Vucic between the European Union (EU) and Russia.
Commenting on the statements of Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, he stated that there was no direct loyalty to Vladimir Putin in his views: “If he contributes to the instability of the region in that way, it will help Russia in any case – because the possible escalation of crisis here suits them, so they could divert attention from their aggression against Ukraine.”
And if, Popov continues, the situation in the region “stirs up“, that line of “stirring up” will go primarily through Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH): “We live in an atmosphere of unfinished war and as if the actors on the political scene outside BiH and in BiH are ready to continue where they left off in 1995 and as if Karadjordjevo 2 hangs over the region ”.
In the end, Popov warned that the statements coming from the leaders in BiH, but also from Zagreb and Belgrade, do not support the consolidation of the situation in BiH – but destabilization, bringing it to the brink of disintegration, Federalna writes.
