Positive News: Youth Interested in Starting a Business in Agriculture

Bosnia and Herzegovina: Active Youth ProgramFrom September to December of 2014, more than 250 young people participated in “Meet the possibilities start with business“ workshops, which have been realized in 11 municipalities/ cities of RS. The workshops were organized in order to use the stimulus funds that Ministry of Agriculture Water Management and Forestry of RS allocates every year in an amount of 60 million BAM.

From 250 participants of workshops, more than 100 are motivated for using the stimulus fund, and most of them had already developed particular enterprising ideas, in other words they are ready for starting their own business in agriculture, as announced from the “Perpetuum mobile“ institute from Banja Luka, which had implemented this local initiative.

Project “Meet the possibilities, start with business“ was realized in two stages.

“Perpetuum mobile“ institute from Banja Luka implemented this local initiative through the Youth Employment Project (YEP) which is supported by the Government of Switzerland with the coordination with the Department for the provision of professional services in the agriculture of RS and job clubs at employment offices of the Employment Service of RS.
