Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić and Federal Minister of Interior Ramo Isak were questioned today at the Special Department of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime (POSKOK). The interrogation is part of an investigation being led in the case “Munjić and others,” also known to the public as the “Spengavanje” affairs.
According to unofficial information, Nikšić and Isak were questioned in the capacity of suspects after the investigation, which originally involved four people, was expanded to the two of them.
Following up on our findings, we contacted POSKOK. They confirmed that certain individuals were questioned today, adding that they will interrogate other suspects later this week.
“All suspects requested additional time to familiarize themselves with the evidence material, which was granted to them. Last week, they received a new date for their interrogation,” told N1 Nina Hadžihajdarević, spokesperson for POSKOK.
The Subject of Investigation
To recall, the “Munjić and Others” case relates to suspicions of criminal offenses associated with abuse of office, trading in influence, and receiving and giving bribes.
The disputed communication between certain high-ranking officials and employees of the federal institutions is the focus of the investigation.
Among the persons whose communication is being investigated are the Acting Director of the Federal Police Administration (FUP), Vahidin Munjić, the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, and FUP employee Muhamed Ohranović, who, according to information so far, played the role of a mediator between the federal prime minister’s office and police structures.
The investigation also includes the head of Nikšić’s cabinet, Arijana Huseinović-Ajanović, and the director of the Police Academy, Ervin Mušinović.
Previously Imposed Restriction Measures
Within this project’s framework, the court decisions were made that restricted certain suspects from performing official duties, accessing certain institutions, and having mutual contact.
Arijana Huseinović-Ajanović is banned from performing any official duty within the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Ervin Mušić was banned from performing official duties in the Federal Police Administration and the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs. An appointment of the acting director of the Police Academy followed.
Munjić, Ohranović, and Mušinović are banned from accessing official premises of FUP and the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as approaching those facilities at a distance of less than 100 meters.
Investigation Expanded after New Searches
During 2026, additional investigative actions were conducted, including searches carried out at the start and middle of the year.
According to available information, on that occasion, new evidence was collected, which served as a basis for expanding the investigation to the Federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić and the Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak.
Their hearing today followed right after the expansion of the case, while the continuation of investigative actions and the questioning of other suspects are expected during the week.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects have the right to the presumption of innocence until eventual guilt is established by a final court verdict, N1 writes.
