Theater program for youth in SARTR named Fakat Drama finished the second intensive workshop with children from several primary schools in Sarajevo.
March is the month in which two important dates for the world of theater are celebrated. SARTR will celebrate one of them on Friday, 28 March. Through this theater educational program, Fakat Drama, the World Youth Theater and the World Theater Day will be celebrated.
With the wish to refresh and intensify the cultural offer for children and youth in SARTR and with the help of the British Council in B&H, they decided to open the premise for them, all in order for their voice to be heard. In that way, not only do they educate the new theater audience, but also the generation which will be capable to give more quality endowment for B&H society.
The workshops are led by the prominent young actresses Amila Terzimehić, Ana-Mia Milić, Irma Alimanović Alihodžić, who is the executive producer of SARTR and flautist Sabina Šabić. Last year they were all spending time in the Nottingham Playhouse theater, under the mentors Sarah Stephenson and Allie Spencer from the United Kingdom. Stephenson and Spencer are leading the Nottingham Playhouse theater program for more than 10 years.
Young attendants have met many new skills, many professionals from the theater world, such as Asja Krsmanović, Nermina Hamzagića and Vedrana Seksan. In addition, they had an opportunity to feel the magic on the stage of the SARTR theater. The work of the attendants was based on the always up to date subject of the classical comedy piece – Molière’s Tartif.
