How much will the new Roof on the Presidency cost?

The reconstruction of the roof of the building of the Presidency of BiH that is worth about 1.43 million BAM should start next week, after several years of holding tenders and the impossibility to find a contractor with the appropriate license that is needed for this project.

“The site is already under the construction and the process of reconstruction will start next week. The roof of the building of the Presidency of BiH has been problematic for quite a while,” said Sinisa Perkovic, Head of the Office for Joint Affairs of the Institutions of BiH.

“It was difficult to find a licensed company for the reconstruction of cultural and historical monuments, or that kind of company never applied on the tender. Finally, we managed to find it, and it is the company Neimar, which has been known for the restoration of cultural and historical monuments,” said Perkovic.

He also stated that this company, among others, worked on the reconstruction of mosques Ferhadija and Arnaudija, as well as the reconstruction of the historic monuments in Bascarsija in Sarajevo.

The deadline for the finalization of works is 10 months, which means that the entire project should be completed until May of next year, when the members of the Presidency of BiH will be able to receive foreign officials in the reconstructed building.

“That job is a bit complicated because after they start working, they can be interrupted at any time due to the arrival of this or that delegation, so there will be frequent interruptions, but the deadline for completing the project is quite realistic,” stated Perkovic.
