The Chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH), Zeljka Cvijanovic, stated yesterday that the entire field of energy is under the jurisdiction of the entity and that at yesterday‘s session of the State Presidency, she voted against the Law on Gas at the level of BiH.

Cvijanovic said that at the session of the Presidency of BiH, disagreement was expressed about this topic and that the other two members of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Becirovic and Zeljko Komsic, had same votes.

“The presidency can give recommendations of this kind, but we have shown that we have different views on it. This was also an opportunity to say what was done to harmonize certain acts, when it comes to the field of energy,” said Cvijanovic in IstocnoSarajevo.

She reminded that the Government of Republika Srpska (RS) has passed its law on energy and that it has its energy strategy and that the law is harmonized with the provisions of the third energy package.

“The Federation of BiH (FBiH) still functions on the basis of the decree and never even wanted to pass its law on energy, precisely in order to get into this situation of forcing the adoption of a legal solution at the level of BiH,” Cvijanovicpointed out.

Presidency of BiH on negotiations on demarcation with Serbia and Croatia

The Chairperson of the Presidency of BiH confirmed that atyesterday’s session of the Presidency, the demarcation of BiHwith Serbia and Croatia was discussed, and that there are no secret or new demands, but information on these issues is sought from the competent authorities, primarily the Border Commission.

She said that they expect the Commission to see how far it has come when it comes to conducting talks and negotiations on reaching agreement on the proposal of a potential treaty on borders when it comes to Serbia.

“It is necessary that this information be delivered to us within the next 30 days. The second conclusion refers to the fact that there is a need expressed by the members of the BiH Presidency to deliver information from the Council of Ministers on possible open bilateral issues with Serbia within 90 days,” stated Cvijanovic.
