At the end of a two-day visit to Serbia with President Aleksandar Vučić, French President Emmanuel Macron attended the unveiling of a plaque marking the completion of works on the modernization of the Airport.
“France is a friend of Serbia and I personally am its friend. We have talks at a strategic level in all sectors, economic and cultural. I think that we were able to improve relations between France and Serbia with this. Know that France is a faithful friend of Serbia,” Macron said.
He thanked Serbia for entrusting the airport reconstruction project to a French company.
“It gives me great pleasure to be with you today and to see everything you have done. Thank you for the trust you have shown us, for giving us this project, we have shown you what we know, our skills,” Macron said.
The President of Serbia once again thanked Macron for the visit.
“Once again, President, dear friend, thank you very much for this visit. Thank you for the trust you have shown in Serbia and the hospitality and honor you have shown to our small country,” said Vučić.
He stated that the Belgrade airport “Nikola Tesla” recorded a record growth of passengers and that today it is completely different, ten times more modern and more comprehensive.
“We wouldn’t be able to do it without a huge investment, without France’s share, we thank them endlessly for that. For our citizens, this is big news, even though “Rafali” are the main news in the world,” concluded Vučić.
Vučić said yesterday after the meeting with Macron in Belgrade that 12 brand new Rafal aircraft will soon be in Serbia’s possession and that the value of the signed contract is 2.7 billion euros.
