The President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, welcomed yesterday the Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Sefik Dzaferovic, in Rome.

They discussed relations between the two countries, which they stated to be very good, especially in the fields of economy and foreign trade, with the prospect of further strengthening and improvement.

Mattarella welcomed the agreement reached in the Presidency of BiH and gave full support to the European perspective for all Western Balkan countries.

Dzaferovic thanked Mattarella for the support Italy has been providing to BiH during our paths European Union (EU) and NATO paths, as well as the overall progress of our country, and invited him to come to an official visit to BiH.

After his reception with Mattarella, Dzaferovic also attended the solemn closing ceremony of the high-level meeting on ‘’Freedom from Violence: Peace, Security and Conflict Prevention in the UN Sustainable Development Agenda’’, hosted by the President of Italy.

‘’This meeting was organized by the International Center ‘Nizami Ganjavi’ and the Italian Society for International Organizations,’’ the BiH Presidency stated in a press release.
