President of the Court in Gradacac comments the Horrific Murder

Judge Lejla Numanović did not know about Nermin Sulejmanović’s thicker file at all. She had no idea. And even if she knew, the judge cannot make a decision based on what the “bazaar” is saying. There were no extracts from criminal records in the case. He was a bully, but the judge does not listen to the bazaar, the judge is looking for evidence, Slobodanka Kojić, president of the Municipal Court in Gradačac, told BHRT.

Kojić claims that the Court did not make an omission by refusing to issue a restraining order against Nermin Sulejmanović after his ex-wife Nizama Hećimović requested it.

“The judge made a decision, if I were in her place I would have made the same decision. The judge is independent in making his decision. I personally think that no mistake was made,” Kojić said.

She pointed out that she learned from the media that the report went to the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor, and that they will make a final decision on her responsibility.

She explained that the judge did not have enough evidence to impose a restraining order.

“From the evidentiary material, she only received a request for the imposition of a protective measure, an official note from the police that the incident was reported, that the police interviewed Nermin Sulejmanović, that he denied committing a criminal offense, and she had her statement where she used the privilege of testifying , she said that she does not want to testify, that is her legal right. She said that there was violence, but she did not describe anything in detail, she said that she did not want to live with Sulejmanović anymore,” stated the president of the Municipal Court in Gradačac.

She said that the judge must have evidence, no matter what.

“I want to say to all the victims of violence: People have to participate,” Kojić stated.

She also referred to the public’s reaction and attacks on judge Lejla Numanović.

“This can happen to anyone, if social networks are going to judge us, we’ll go home, so let them sit in the judges’ chairs and let them judge everyone,” stated Kojić, BHRT reports.
