Manager of the ”Pevent Leather Sarajevo” company from Visoko Kemal Hadžić said that this company will continue with the increase of production and introducing new projects, such as this year’s start of leather production for Seat models. Hadžić added that the increase of production capacities for 25% was also planned, and that will enable the development of business and it will create new jobs.
”Prevent Leather” is the most modern leather factory in South eastern Europe and its production processes uses advanced technology for leather processing.
It employs more than 850 workers, and it annually process 2 million square metres of leather which is being used for production of car upholsters of famous world car producers.
Hadžić said that Prevent Leather in 2012 achieved 25% of shares of total production of Prevent Group, and 2012 was marked by project of production of leather upholstery for ”vw golf 7” adding that this is one of few leather factories in the world that had the significant growth in production.
Talking about the disposing the organic waste, which the company produces, Hadžić said that ”Prevent Leather” warned that there is no such place for disposing organic waste in BiH, and because of that the company offered alternatives for treating waste which were not approved.
”The lack of adequate waste disposal is making the functioning of the leather production process harder, which endangers the competitiveness of the company, future development and jobs. With these projects which are currently being implemented, as well as those that are planned in next six months, the production of organic waste will significantly be reduced”, said Hadžić.
He noted that ”Prevent Leather” is seeking for methods which will be permanent, tenable and efficient, and for that they need the understanding of the local community, support of the government and NGO, and also they need the readiness of existing operators for waste treatment.
In mean time, Hadžić noted that in cooperation with government institutions, ”Prevent” is using short-term solutions in disposing the waste.
He noted that the ”Prevent Group’’ in BiH with its corporative policy is promoting socially responsible behaviour which is particularly reflected in the respect of human rights, fighting corruption, protecting the environment and philanthropy.
“Also, we support education and young talents in their efforts to fulfil their dreams and show creativity through a variety of projects of broader social significance,” underlined Hadžić.
