plenkovicNewly elected Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic arrived in the two-day official visit to BiH with a delegation of the Government of Croatia. This is also the first visit of Prime Minister of Croatia to some other country.

As previously announced, together with the Prime Minister in BiH arrived Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Davor Ivo Stier, Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butkovic and Chairman of the Central State Office for Croats outside the Croatia, Zvonko Milas.

Plenkovic will visit the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH first, where he will meet with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic, and later with members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives and the Collegium of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

Newly elected Prime Minister of Croatia will also meet with members of the Presidency of BiH in Sarajevo, as well as with the head of the Islamic Community in BiH, Reis-ul-ulema Husein ef. Kavazovic. After these meetings, he will meet with Archbishop Cardinal Vinko Puljic and President of the Croatian Cultural Society “Napredak” Franjo Topic.

As provided in the program published on the official website of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Prime Minister and the delegation will meet with the Rector of the University of Mostar Ljerka Ostojic and members of the Senate on Saturday, after which will follow his meeting with the Board of University Clinical Hospital Mostar. Immediately after that is scheduled meeting of the Prime Minister and the delegation with representatives of the Croatian National Parliament.

Plenkovic earlier emphasized that one of the main foreign policy priorities for Croatia will be BiH.

“We are going to Sarajevo and Mostar on Friday knowingly and intentionally, to send a message that BiH is priority number one to the new government when it comes to foreign policy. We are expected to do this and we will fulfill this task in the next four years, in favor of cohesion and functioning of BiH and in favor of equality and protection of the Croats as a constituent people, by sectors and politically,” said Plenkovic.
