Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob will pay an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on Monday, March 13th.

The central theme of the visit will be the European integration of BiH, and the Prime Minister of Slovenia will also discuss with the interlocutors bilateral relations and opportunities for their improvement, Golob’s office announced.

Golob will be hosted in BiH by Borjana Kristo, chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers. Meetings with representatives of both houses of the Parliament, as well as a meeting with members of the BiH Presidency, are also planned.

According to Golob’s cabinet, the topic of the visit will be how to help BiH on its European path after the important geostrategic decision of the European Council on granting candidate status to BiH.

One of the topics of discussion will be the situation in the Western Balkans and the impact of the war in Ukraine on this region.

In December last year, the European Council, among other things, at the initiative of Slovenia, granted BiH the status of a candidate for the European Union (EU)membership. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, already emphasized during her visit to Sarajevo in January that Slovenia will continue to help BiH on its European path with concrete political support.
