For the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the organization of the regional entrepreneurial network Women in Adria BiH, prizes were awarded to the best female entrepreneurs in 2022.
The prizes were awarded in two categories, micro-entrepreneurs and startup entrepreneurs, and this year’s winners are Merjem Hamzić and Senita Slipac.
In the competition process for the selection of the Best Entrepreneur in BiH in 2022, 37 entrepreneurs were nominated, whose applications were reviewed by a five-member jury consisting of Lada Buševac, head of the IFC office for BiH and Montenegro, Amila Pilav Velić, vice dean and professor at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, Alma Hadžiavdić, senior manager at KPMG, Nedim Čelebić, vice dean and professor at SST University in Sarajevo and Emir Adžović from UNDP BiH.
The finalists in both categories were: Adisa Duharkić Serdarević, owner of ADS Consulting, Merjem Hamzić, owner of Bashka, Erna Šošević, founder and CEO of Bizbook and Senita Slipac, co-founder and CEO of Orea Baazar.
Merjem Hamzić, the best entrepreneur in the micro-entrepreneur category, is the owner of the Bashka chocolatier brand, which produces high-quality and innovative chocolate desserts, the so-called artisan craft chocolate.
Senita Slipac, co-founder and director of the unique online platform OREA bazaar for the sale of original handicrafts by BH craftspersons.
Regional entrepreneurial network Women in Adria BiH started its business in BiH in May of this year and the founder of the regional network Women in Adria, Ivana Matić, from Zagreb, welcomed the finalists and said that with these awards they want to support women entrepreneurs in all phases of business.
