Problems in the Agency for Medicines: We lack professional Staff

The Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is still waiting for the Council of Ministers to give the green light for vacancies.

President of the Trade Union of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices BiH Ramo Rustemovic pointed out that these days everyone is feeling anticipation for the formation of a new government.

”Some celebrate, some despair, and we at the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH have only hope, which is a good harbinger of death, unfortunately. There is a lack of professional people, and necessary functions in the Agency’s sectors, people are retiring, some due to poor financial conditions, and some don’t have hope anymore. For two years, the Council of Ministers, in this convocation, has been giving us requests for filling vacant positions, internal transfers, pharmacists, analysts, laboratory dishwashers who are no longer in regular employment,” said Rustemovic.

He added that they know best how to resolve the issue of the missing jobs.

”Of course, some people work on multiple jobs, without waiting for the volume and quality of medicine quality control jobs to be threatened. Given that the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices is in the service of preserving and improving health, it is primarily for the sake of patients throughout the territory of BiH, and in addition, it is an expert institution of medical and health activities, it brings money to the budget of the Council of Ministers, I ask the politicians to lower the raised ramps, to urgently allow us the renewal of vacant positions. We just work and exist,” explained Rustemovic, Avaz reports.
