As part of the project ‘Strengthening B&H Judicial System’ (IPA 2010) that was realized with the financial support of the EU to Sarajevo, a final conference was organized, where a new project that would also be realized with EU support was announced and presented.
The project is called ‘Consolidation and Further Development of Judicial Communication and Information System’, which will be financed through IPA 2012.
The agreement relating to the implementation of this project, organized by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of B&H (VSTV) was signed in the introductory part of the conference by the Head of the EU Delegation to B&H/Special Representative Ambassador Peter Sorensen and Milorad Novković, President of VSTV B&H.
Ambassador Sorensen spoke of the EU’s determination to continue supporting the B&H Judicial System, putting it into the context of the European path of our country and adopting standards that are necessary to build the rule of law.
‘’What we have been striving for and what we will continue to do is to lend support to the B&H Judicial System so that it could be independent, efficient and effective’’, said Ambassador Sorensen.
With the belief that the goals of judicial reform would be achieved in partnership with VSTV B&H, Ambassador Sorensen praised the achievements in terms of reducing the number of pending cases, and underlined the need to continue this trend.
