The aim of our experts is to strengthen the capacities and equipment of the Museum so that the first Center for Conservation and Restoration could be established within it,” said the Ambassador of Italy to BiH Ruggero Corrias upon the completion of this mission.

The mission was led by the Director of the higher education institution Higher Education Schools, Donatella Cavezzali, and the mission was organized with the aim of launching the project of cooperation with the National Museum of BiH financed by Italy with 40.000 EUR.

This initiative, launched thanks to the entry into force of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of culture, education and sports following the impetus by the Minister of Fireign Affairs of Italy Paolo Gentiloni, is aimed at organizing professional courses of training in the field of conservation and restoration which will, in the first stage, be focused on collections of exhibits made of metal in the National Museum of BiH.

In parallel with these training activities for educators, which are to be led by the Italian experts, the ISCR will deliver the equipment for one specialist laboratory – the nucleus of the future Center for Conservation and Restoration that will be the first of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project also foresees the training process in Italy, proposed in Sarajevo by the Minister of Cultural Goods of Italy Dario Francheschini during his recent visit to the BiH capita, the Embassy of Italy in BiH stated.
