Within the project ”Undiplomatic Art” organized a program called ”Gender Trouble” which presented the exhibition ”Matki”, a Zorka project from Poland and a panel discussion called ”Gender and transition”.
“Gender Trouble” had the goal to open a cultural center so artists who are researching sexual identities, body, gender stereotypes and roles, the equality of gender, feminism, but also queer, gay, transsexual and inter-sexual themes, can present their work and have space for debate. Another goal is to have this center as a tool of informing and affecting the conservative society.
The closing part of this program will be the presentation of the publication entitled ”Gender and transition”, which will be held on the 29th December at Art Cinema ”Kriterion”.
The manager of the art program of MESS Festival Selma Spahić will talk about this publication together with the director of the Agency for equality of gender in B&H Samra Filipović-Hadžiabdić, and a lawyer and master of gender studies Lana Akčar, as well as the editor of this publication Semir M. Dedeić.
The program “Gender Trouble” was organized by MESS Festival with the financial support from the resources of the FIGAP program. The program for implementation of the Gender action plan of B&H is the result of the collaboration of the Agency for equality of gender B&H, the Ministry for human rights and refugees B&H, the Gender Center of the Federation of B&H and the Gender Center of RS. The aim of this program is to secure a sustainable implementation of the Gender action plan of B&H.
