The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina a proposal to order detention for a member of the Prijedor Police Department, Dejan Jurišić (39), who is linked to the murder of the head of the Prijedor Criminal Police, Radenko Bašić.
The measure of detention was requested due to the danger that the suspect could hinder the investigation, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accomplices, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
Jurišić was arrested in the operation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska in the area of Prijedor, and he is charged with the criminal acts of extortion and abuse of official position.
As part of the investigative activities, information and evidence were collected that during 2021, the suspect, as an authorized person of the Ministry of Interior of the Republika Srpska, had information that a serious murder of the head of the Prijedor criminal police, Radenko Bašić, was being planned, as well as about persons who were planning a murder, and such information did not pass it on to the competent authorities.
The two arrested with Jurišić in the same operation gave detailed statements, but no detention order was requested for them.
