Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an Indictment against Diana Kajmakovic

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina ordered the investigation against the suspended prosecutor Diana Kajmaković, confirmed the spokesman of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Boris Grubešić.

Grubešić noted that the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot provide more information at the moment.

Last year, Kajmaković was transferred from the Department for Corruption, which she headed, to the Department for War Crimes.

She was also transferred from the team that worked on “Sky” cases because two criminogenic persons mentioned her in the “Sky” application, about which the MUP of Sarajevo Canton informed the Prosecutor’s Office last year.

Not long after, the USA put Kajmaković on the American blacklist, accusing her of serious corruption and abuse of the prosecutor’s office, and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council suspended her and initiated disciplinary proceedings against her, which are ongoing.

The verification of these allegations lasted for months, and only recently was an official order to conduct an investigation.

The State Department announced three days ago that Kajmaković and the former director of the Intelligence and Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Osman Mehmedagić, were banned from entering the US.

In the explanation of the new sanction from the State Department, it was stated that “Kajmaković has a significant share in corrupt activities, that she assisted criminal activities in exchange for personal benefit”.

When it comes to disciplinary proceedings, the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor charges Kajmaković on three counts – for using the function of the prosecutor for the purpose of obtaining benefits, interfering with the work of the prosecutors, behavior that harms the reputation of the function, as well as for other behavior that constitutes a serious violation of official duty or calls into question public trust in impartiality and credibility.
