Prosecutors Office resolved over Twenty Two Thousand Reports on Perpetrated Criminal Offenses

In 2018, Public Prosecutor’s Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina resolved 22.646 reports (charges) on perpetrated criminal offenses for adult persons, which was 2.530 charges lower or 10,05% less in comparison with the previous year. Out of the total number of reported adult persons 89,0% is reffered to known perpetrators and 11,0% to unknown perpetrators. Also in the total number of reported persons 90,2% is reffered to male perpetrators.

In the same period, 11.267 decisions (charges) were made, which was 183 charges (or 1,6%) less in comparison with the previous year. The total number of convicted adult perpetrators is 10.306, which is in comparison with the previous year 2,13% less. In the total number of convicted persons, 93,47% of cases were court verdicts against male perpetrators.

According to BiH’s Agency for Statistics, the criminal offences against property were the most represented. In the number of reported persons, participation of property crime was 38,02%, while for accused this percentage was 33,38% and for convicted 32,83%.
