The second international conference called Parks of Dinaric Arc, which started on Monday with the adoption of a document ‘Big Win for Dinaric Arc’, finished yesterday with a visit to the Montenegrin National Park Skadar Lake.
One of the main conclusions of the conference was an emphasis on the need to establish an independent association of parks of Dinaric arc. The project by the same name is led by the World Organization for Environmental Protection (WWF), linked the 79 protected areas from Slovenia to Albania in the network of parks that are exchanging experiences, ideas and establishing joint projects.
At the second international conference Parks of Dinaric Arc, which was held in Budva, ‘’Protected Areas of Canton Sarajevo’ were received as an active and permanent member in the Association of Dinaric Arc, confirmed to Fena the Director of the public institution ‘Protected Areas of Canton Sarajevo’ Osman Delić. Sixteen of the protected areas have entered through this project into the process of obtaining European certification for sustainable tourism. At the conference, the parks exchanged experiences and progress, which has led to other parks to express interest in joining the process of receiving certificates.
