Today, a convoy of the material, technical and human capacities of the protection and rescue services of the Canton of Sarajevo was dispatched, which will provide assistance to the Republic of Slovenia in the rehabilitation of the consequences of the catastrophic floods, announced the Protocol and Press Service of the Canton of Sarajevo.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton, at the suggestion of the CS Civil Protection Staff, on Friday in an emergency telephone session passed the Decision on engaging the defense structures of the Sarajevo Canton to provide assistance to the Republic of Slovenia in remediation of the consequences of the floods.

Based on the Decision of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was determined that assistance for protection and rescue will be provided in heavy machinery, i.e. excavators with crews from the protection and rescue structures of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for a duration of 10 days, and according to the Order of the Federal Headquarters of Civil Protection, it was ordered engagement of protection and rescue services from Sarajevo Canton.

“We just sent four vehicles and 15 members of the civil defense to alleviate the consequences of floods and rehabilitation for the friendly country of Slovenia. Out of a total of six vehicles sent to Slovenia, four are vehicles from CZ Sarajevo Canton and two from CZ RS. For the first time, the coordination mechanism for international aid for protection and rescue was activated between the Council of Ministers of BiH, the entities, and similarly the cantons. Proud that in this way the Canton of Sarajevo shows that it is equipped for the most complex civil operations, but also ready to show solidarity at the international level,” said Prime Minister of CS Nihad Uk, congratulating the director of the Cantonal Administration of Civil Protection KS Dženan Brkanić on the realization of this humane activity.
