The Committee on Transport and Communications of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted a decision on a public hearing of the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto.
The decision states that the aim of the Committee is to obtain the necessary information and determine the reasons for the unsatisfactory results of the Ministry of Communications and Transport in 2023 and 2024, as well as why the Ministry did not implement the conclusions of the Committee on Transport and Communications of the House of Representatives.
According to the adopted decision, the public hearing of Forte will be held within 15 days from the date of its adoption, the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
At today’s session, the Committee adopted a modified parliamentary initiative by Saša Magazinović to equalize the costs of the fee for extending a driver’s license for all drivers.
The initiative would task the Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA) with drafting and submitting to the procedure amendments to the Rulebook that would abolish discrimination based on age and health status.
The statement states that older drivers pay up to 3.3 times more for the renewal of their driver’s license than younger drivers, and there are cases where drivers with reduced health capabilities pay up to five times more than other drivers.
The Commission took note of the response of the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH to the conclusion from the 21st session of the Commission relating to the problem of limiting the time of residence of drivers from BiH on the territory of the EU.
