The Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo (CS) Nihad Uk and ministers in the Government of CS yesterday presented the results of the work in the first 100 days of the mandate, and they assessed that period as satisfactory, although there were many challenges.

In his introductory presentation, he presented the work of all ministries and emphasized that the Ministry of Justice and Administration has implemented significant projects in the digital transformation of the public sector, especially the elimination of the need for land registry extracts when proving ownership and full electronic communication with the administrative bodies of the CS.

He stated that the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction, and Environmental Protection is working on a large project, unique in the region, which is the “Energy HUB” – the production of heat energy from wastewater and electricity from the waste sludge Butile.

Uk also said that the CS Ministry of Transport is continuing the reconstruction project of the tram line Cengic Vila – Ilidza and Cengic Vila – Marijin dvor, and the contract for the construction project of the tram line Ilidza – Hrasnica has also been signed. Free public transport is provided for students, and from today coupons for public transport will be the same for both operators, and the ticket price is 1.80 BAM.

In the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons, and Refugees, a project was launched to remove barriers for immobile and disabled persons in public institutions, 21 million BAM was set aside for employment incentives, and 3.332 people are expected to be employed through established programs.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of CS faces big challenges, namely the procurement of body cameras, ensuring order and peace, for which 195 new police officers have been hired.
