“Architectural map of mosques from the Ottoman period preserved in the area of Sarajevo” is a publication with which the Sarajevo Cantonal Institute for the Protection of Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage continued its publishing activity.

The map shows not only the monumental and most significant achievements of sacred Islamic architectural heritage, but also all mosques and masjids in Sarajevo neighborhoods. The authors are associates of the Institute, architects Zaila Uzunović and Damir Hodžić.

As Boris Trapara, director of the Institute, pointed out for Fena, the Map is the result of extensive and methodical research work, and it is significant because it introduces and reminds us of the values of our indelible cultural heritage.

It presents 74 Sarajevo mosques with data on the period of construction, their values and the current state of preservation.

The editor of “Architectural Map” is Boris Trapara, and it was published with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton.
