The Archbishop of Vrhbosna and President of the Bishops’ Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Cardinal Vinko Puljic, congratulated the Orthodox bishops and believers on the Christmas holiday that Orthodox people celebrate on January 7th in accordance with the Julian calendar.
He sent congratulations to Metropolitan Chrysostom of Dabro-Bosnia, Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Bishop Dimitrije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and Bishop Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, but also to the Dean of the Orthodox Theological Faculty in Foca, Archpriest-Staurophore Vladislav Topalovic.
He first thanked the bishops and the dean for the congratulations they sent to Cardinal Puljic and Catholics in BiH on the occasion of the celebration of Catholic Christmas and emphasized that the holiday is an opportunity to bring joy and peace to the hearts of people, families, and nations.
”All human wisdom and knowledge stop in front of the Manger of Bethlehem. Only a humble soul full of faith and devotion to God’s omnipotence, like Mary, can accept and worship the child Jesus in the manger. To you personally, as to all believers, priests, and also monks and nuns, I express my Christmas greeting with the ancient words: ‘God’s Peace – Christ is born! Indeed, he is born! ‘ wrote Cardinal Puljic with the message: “In the New 2022, may the success and blessing of God accompany you in your life and work,” the Vrhbosna Archbishop announced.
