Raiffeisen Bank and Western Union Foundation continued their project for the support to schools in BIH “Books on Books” through a donation of books, projectors, laptops and other equipment for 12 schools.
The project “Books on Books” was started in 2011 as a result of cooperation between Raifeissen Bank and Western Union, and was successfully implemented by Hilfswerk Austria International.
Hilfswerk Austria International, together with competent ministries of education, Raiffeiesen Bank and Western Union have chosen schools in BiH that will be included in this year’s project.
As part of this year’s project, a total of 650 books for school readings, six laptops, nine projectors, eleven projection screens, three multi-functional cameras, and five sets of geometric drawings worth 20.000 US dollars have been obtained.
“Our wish and obligation as a socially responsible company is to contribute to resolving the problems that the community in which we operate is facing. Aware that a number of schools in BiH do not have basic equipment, donations are part of this project is exactly what we intended for the improvement of conditions for work and learning. Focusing on children as the future is our commitment, so we are pleased to be a part of this project’’, said the Director of Raiffeisen Bank Michael Muller.

This year, the fist donation of equipment was given to Gymnasium Meša Selimović in Tuzla. This was followed by delivery of donations to certain primary and secondary schools in Goražde, Pale, Bijeljina, Sarajevo, Tešanj, Doboj, Prnjavor, Prijedor, Sanski Most, Tomislavgrad, while today’s donation to the high school Pero Zečević in Odžak has completed this year’s project, announced Raiffeisen Bank.
