nevesinjeThe representative of the Agency for Improving Foreign Investment BiH (FIPA) in Japan Šigehiko Nišihama and the representative of FIPA in Mostar Amir Kazić spoke with the mayor of municipality Nevesinje on the possibilities to promote this Herzegovinian city.

Nišihama works on the promotion of the tourist potential of Herzegovina. He is a journalist by profession who works on two very known magazines in Tokyo and every year he gathers data on interesting destinations that these journals public. Thanks to Nišihama, year after year the number of tourists from Japan to BiH increases. He considers BiH his second hometown, announced on the site of the municipality.

The activities to improve the promotion of the tourist potential of Herzegovina are done on a volunteer basis and without pay, and the effects of his work were shown at the last food and drinks fair “Fodeks 2013” in Tokyo.

At this year fair “Fodeks 2013”, apart from the wine from the monastery “Tvrdoš” from Trebinje, the wineries “Čitluk”, cellars “Andrija” from Čitluk, winery “Nuić” from Ljubuški, and the food industry “Sava-Semberija” from Bijeljina were presented.

This fair has a tradition of 37 years and is visited by more than 75.000 people and is one of the biggest fairs in Asia.

“At the fair in Tokyo, four wineries from Herzegovina achieved very good results and the wines were rated as excellent quality. We expect to advance around 7.200 bottles, which is very important for a selective Japanese market, and when you enter this market once the manufacturer will not have a problem with placement’’, said Nišihama.

Nišihama will promote the tourist potential of Nevesinje to Japanese tourist agencies, and how these potentials can expect to be fruitful.
