Railways in the first eight months of this year transported 5.366.904 tons of cargo, up to 1 percent more compared to the same period last year. Railway transported 236.147 passengers in the first eight months.
The basic planning projects of the FB&H railways for the future period are: continuation of the reconstruction of the upper and lower railways (priority on Corridor 5-C), and building a network of fiber optic cable on the lines ŽFB&H, installation of modern signaling systems of electronic type, acquisition of track mechanization, electrification of the railway Doboj-Tuzla-Zvornik and Brčko–Banović, and further continuation of company computerization.
