The rain that fell last night extinguished all fires on the territory of Republika Srpska, said the director of the Republic Administration of Civil Protection, Milan Novitovic.

Novitovic stated that rain is currently falling in all places in RS where there were active fires, stating that in Herzegovina alone, more than 20 liters of rain per square meter fell last night.

According to him, experts will visit the fires and determine whether they have been completely extinguished or there is still a danger that they will be reactivated.

“This rain came to our rescue at the right time. All our teams – firefighters, members of the Civil Protection and the Helicopter Service of Srpska have made superhuman efforts to localize fires, save property and human lives, “said Novitovic.
