Reconstruction of Bascarsija Square to start soon

Bascarsija square reconstructionReconstruction of Bascarsija square should start soon, and by signing a Protocol yesterday, handover of the building  site to the contractor has been done.

That document was signed by the Chief of the Municipality Stari Grad, Ibrahim Hadzibajric, director of  the Turkish Administration for International Development and Coordination (TIKA) Huseyin Sanli and Ramiz Mulaomerovic in the name of the contractor Neimari d.o.o.

Hadzibajric said that brotherly municipality Osmangazi from Bursa gave half of the fund, and the rest is given by the Municipality Stari Grad.

He pointed out that date of the beginning of quarterly works will be determined subsequently.

Sanli emphasized that this i an important job, considering that Bascarsija is a pearl of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Balkan as well.

He explained that TIKA is a coordinator in this project.

We will expect patience from Sarajevans and tourists, but also from businessman who have shops in this are, we will try to do this job in the best possible way“, emphasized Sanli.

In the name of contractor, Ramiz Mulaomerovic emphasized that company Neimari will carry out this complex job in the best way, but also the help of public enterprises and traders who are using facilities will be needed.

Reconstruction of Bascarsija square will mean rehabilitation of the existing network of communal infrastructure, drainage, and paving stones from Jablanica rodolite are provided fo the final layer.

For the realization of this project, municipalities Stari Grad Sarajevo and Osmangazi from Bursa transferred 1.100.000 BAM to TIKA.
