Federal Minister for Displaced Persons and Refugees Edin Ramic and Mayor of Doboj Obren Petrovic signed a Protocol on Cooperation between the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees and the City of Doboj. The main aim of the protocol is providing help to displaced persons and returnees in the process of renovation and reconstruction of their houses.

Moreover, three-part contracts were signed between the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees, the City of Doboj and 21 users for the allocation of construction material.

These are damaged or totally destroyed housing units in the area of Doboj, which are intended for the process of realization of return and housing of returnee families.

“We are signing contracts with the users who were selected through the public call of our Ministry. The share of our ministry is 60 % and the share of the City of Doboj is 40 %. With the realization of this housing call, we continue investing in residential infrastructure, and I can proudly say that we will have about 1,500 houses or apartments that we constructed, renovated or allocated construction materials for their renovation by the end of this mandate,” said Ramic.

He also added that the cooperation between local authorities in Doboj is an example of good housing management, positive practices of institutions in the work for the benefit of citizens as well as general interests of society.

The Mayor of Doboj, Obren Petrovic, noted his gratitude on behalf of citizens of Doboj and local community and emphasized the importance of the involvement of the Ministry, as well as the dedication of local authorities in the construction of multi-ethnic community in this region, as noted from the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees.

“This is only one of the projects that we realized in different fields and we are hoping and expecting even better cooperation in the upcoming period, and our final goal is better life for our citizens,” concluded Petrovic.
