Record-breaking Investment by the European Investment Bank in BiH in 2018

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and Finance and Treasury Minister Vjekoslav Bevanda met today with the Operations Head of Western Balkans European Investment Bank (EIB) Metteo Rivellini with whom he talked about ongoing projects and plans for the continuation of cooperation.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that the EIB’s record-breaking investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina was achieved in the past year, as six contracts totaling 242 million euros were signed.

It was added that money was given for projects related to the private and public sectors.

At the meeting, it has been emphasized that one of the largest and most technically high-quality projects funded by the EIB at Corridor 5C on the section of the Banja Luka-Doboj highway.

It was also added that there will be new projects prepared which, apart from infrastructure, also concern flood protection, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Minister Bevanda expressed the satisfaction with the degree of implementation of EIB projects in BiH, and stressed that he expects new investments in infrastructure.

He added that it is necessary to provide stronger support to private sector through favorable lending programs, which will contribute to increased investment and economic growth.
