Record Number of Visitors of Una National Park

Director of the Public Enterprise “Una National Park” Amarildo Mulić confirmed that this year, 126,000 visitors have already been recorded, which is a record number, but also the best confirmation of the growth and development of this national park.

“The Una National Park was declared in 2011, and at that time we had two and a half thousand recorded official visits. That number of visits grew every year, just as we grew in all business segments,” Mulić pointed out.

Thus, 120,000 visits were recorded in 2019, which was a record number until the current year.

“A few days ago, we recorded 126,000 visits by our guests and tourists, which is why, a month and a half before the end of the year, we can proudly state that we have surpassed the previous record number,” said Mulić.

The presented data is only, as he pointed out, a confirmation that the Una National Park is actually a generator of the development of the hospitality and tourism sector in the Una-Sana Canton.

“There are numerous indicators for that. One in particular is immediately noticeable, and that is that in 2011 there were four hotels in Bihać, while today there are 41 and more than 500 accommodation units. Many people from the canton are employed in the hospitality and tourism sector throughout the year, because more and more tourists are coming to us even after the summer tourist season,” added the director of the Public Enterprise “National Park Una”.

The Employment Service of the Una-Sana Canton pointed out that at the beginning of October this year there were four thousand fewer people on the unemployment register, compared to the same period last year. It was emphasized that the hospitality and tourism sector is one of the most important factors for such a situation.
