On June 9th, Sarajevo will host the spectacular Red Bull Showrun event, and the main attraction will undoubtedly be the Formula 1 car driven by the famous driver from the United Kingdom (UK) David Coulthard. This is the RB7 car from the Red Bull Racing team, which has arrived in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

After a long journey from Poland, where it completed another mission, the famous RB7 has arrived in BiH, specifically in Sarajevo, transported in a special and recognizable truck along with accompanying equipment.

Given that one of the most dominant cars in the history of Formula 1 will be in the capital of BiH for several days and will unleash its power and thunderous sound on Sarajevo’s asphalt on Sunday, June 9th, it will require servicing and preparation for Coulthard to perform his show, eagerly anticipated by many Formula 1 fans in our country, as well as all lovers of adrenaline and good entertainment. Therefore, the RB7 has everything it needs in its mobile home to prepare and put on an unforgettable show.

Namely, the RB7 is a car that the Red Bull Racing team used in 2011 and was unveiled at the Ricardo Tormo track near Valencia.

This car succeeded the highly successful RB6, which won the double crown in 2010 but also brought improvements that overcame numerous technical challenges. The result of the teamwork at Red Bull Racing was the powerful RB7, one of the most dominant cars in the history of Formula 1. This car also brought the Milton Keynes team titles in both the drivers’ and constructors’ standings, marking the team’s second double crown.

In the 2011 season, the RB7 achieved 12 victories, including three one-two finishes (1st and 2nd place), 27 podiums, 18 out of a possible 19 pole positions, and a total of 650 points. The driver lineup consisted of German Sebastian Vettel and Australian Mark Webber. Vettel won his second of four total Formula 1 world championships in this car.

Vettel achieved 11 wins and 15 pole positions this season, while Webber secured one win and three pole positions. Given his habit of naming his cars, popular “Seb” called his carbon-fiber RB7 chassis “Kinky Kylie.”

The RB7 was designed by the famous designer Adrian Newey and is powered by a Renault 2.4-liter V8 engine (8 cylinders, 32 valves) weighing 95 kilograms and paired with a longitudinally mounted seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox with a hydraulic system (7+R), equipped with KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System). This engine revs to 18.000 rpm and delivers 750 horsepower. It used Total Group fuel and oil, as well as 13-inch OZ wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires. The RB7 became the first car with KERS to win the constructors’ title. The entire car, including the driver, weighs 640 kg.

One specific feature of this car is the DRS system, or drag reduction system, which is part of the rear wing. Introduced in 2011 to improve overtaking, it functions simply. When a driver following another is within one second on a specific part of the track, it allows the driver to activate the adjustable rear wing. The flap on that rear wing opens, significantly reducing drag and providing the driver with the opportunity to attack the rival and possibly pass them. This system was a simple and effective addition to the car, which was so dominant that it rarely needed the DRS.The legendary Coulthard has driven the RB7 multiple times at various locations during Red Bull Showrun events, the next of which will be held on June 9th in Sarajevo. The championship-winning car will race on a route from Marijin Dvor to the Mechanical Engineering School and back past the National Museum of BiH, with the event in Marseille serving as an example of what awaits the numerous audience in the capital of BiH. Coulthard will again be in the cockpit of the championship car.

On the day of the Red Bull Showrun, Sarajevo is expected to host tens of thousands of people, who will also be able to enjoy performances by motorcycle virtuoso Arunas Gibieza, the Red Bull Driftbrothers drift masters, and other activities during the all-day event, N1 writes.
