sukob_interesaB&H Transparency International and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, in cooperation with the association of B&H Novinari organize the regional conference on  conflict of interest dedicated to the legal framework and the implementation of the law on the conflict of interest in B&H and in the region as one of the key segments of the prevention of corruption and effective fight against corruption.

As in many other areas, other countries of the region have progressed in comparison to B&H in terms of the prevention and sanctioning of conflict of interest of officials. Since the law on conflict of interest was adopted in B&H 11 years ago, the only visible initiative taken to further weakening the legal framework are recent amendments to the act.

Considering this fact, the regional conference on conflict of interests intends to exchange experiences and examples between the countries of the region and this is an opportunity to create recommendations for improving the situation in B&H. The media coverage of this issue and corruption in general will be discussed at the conference, as well as the control of property records in the region, which presents the basis of the prevention of illegitimate enrichment of public officials.

The conference will take place on Wednesday on 13November 2013 at 11:00 at Hotel “Bosna” in Banja Luka.
